One of the best ways to narrow down a theme for your wedding day is to think about what the two of you enjoy doing together. It could be travel, biking, watching classic movies or, as this couple chose, sailing. Wendy and Dale love to go sailing together, so they decided to have a nautical wedding day with a navy blue, white, and yellow color palette and lots of fun ship-themed details. They chose the gorgeous brick patio at Old Town’s Firehouse Restaurant for their ceremony and reception, and decorated it with navy blue linens, napkins tied with seashells, and floral pieces designed by Garden of Weedon‘s Suzanne O’Brien. A gorgeous navy blue and white cake was provided by Freeport Bakery, and Jenn Bartell Photography and Design was on hand to document the day. It turned out to be a chic, sophisticated event that truly reflected this couple’s personality and style.
Wendy and Dale’s day began with one of the most unique pre-ceremony “reveals” we have ever seen. On a dock on the riverfront, Wendy waited patiently with her back turned to the water as Dale arrived in a boat and walked up the ramp to meet her. What a unique idea and what a beautiful result!
Following their reveal, Bride and Groom walked around downtown Sacramento while Jenn Bartell snapped tons of lovely photos. Meanwhile, Catrina Maria Designs was back at the Firehouse, working with restaurant staff and florist Suzanne O’Brien to prepare everything for their arrival. Let’s see what the rest of their wedding day looked like…
